The cancelled results were among the 112, 000 results of
candidates withheld for their involvement in examination
malpractice out of1, 695, 878 candidates that sat for the May/
June 2012 WASSCE.
Only 38.81 per cent (649, 156) of the total candidates that sat for
the May/June 2012 WASSCE obtained five credits in English
Language, Mathematics and three other subjects, thus were
qualified for admissions into universities and polytechnics.
The Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) of the council took the
far-reaching decisions in Lagos after it deliberated on evidences
(exhibits) produced by the council, which wereseized from some
candidates involved in examination malpractice.
Other decisions taken by NEC include recommendation for
sanctions against 97 supervisors/principals/other examination
personnel identified and reported to their various state ministries
of education, while 21 supervisors also indicted were blacklisted.

The WAEC committee also recommended that 465 secondary
schools be warned for aiding and abetting examination
malpractice during the 2012 May/June WASSCE, granted clemency
to eight candidates even as the certificates of 12 others were
withdrawn after they asked for restitution.

The NEC, which was chaired by the Director of Basic and
SecondaryEducation), Ministry of Education, Abuja, directed that
the allegations against 930 candidates be further investigated,
while their results are withheld.

Also, the council withdrew the recognition of six schools and
commended one staff. A breakdown of schools sanctioned
nationwide revealed that majority came from the South-South,
followed by those from the North, SouthEast and South West.
Government-owned schools top the list of those involved in exam
fraud.

The NEC recommendation shows that recognition for 21 schools
were withdrawn for two years. Also, recognition for 43 others were
withdrawn, along side the principals of the schools.

Probe me, not my aides, Obasanjo dares FG

The cold war between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Goodluck Jonathan Administration came again to the fore on Sunday at a thanksgiving service held in honour of a former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, in Abuja.

At the service that had many eminent Nigerians, including a former Head of the Service of the Federation, Steve Oronsaye, and ex-Attorney General of Federation and Minister of Justice, Kanu Agabi, in attendance, Obasanjo said if the Goodluck Jonathan administration was keen on probing his government, it should come after him instead of people that served under him.
He also flayed the plan by the Federal Government to set up a pipeline protection agency, saying it was another avenue for corruption. But Obasanjo's comments drew the ire of the Presidency which said no past administration, either past or present, should be afraid of probe. It also advised the former President to allow Jonathan to do his work.
The former leader had at the 50th birthday thanksgiving service for Ezekwesili, said, "I have always said this, whatever you want to blame in my government, blame me; don't blame any of those people who assisted me. If there is any credit to dispense, we share it. But for anything you want to say is wrong, I was the one in charge and I was in charge." Obasanjo, whose comments were necessitated by the war of words between Ezekwesili, and the Presidency over the $67bn the Jonathan administraion inherited from his government, said he had absolute trust in those that worked under him, especially as ministers.
Ezekwesili's claim that the Federal Government squandered the sum was described by the Presidency as reckless. Turning to the former Education minister, Obasanjo said he was sure nothing would be found against her because of her integrity and commitment to public service.
He said, "Actually those who wanted to probe you (Ezekwesili), you should have asked them to go ahead because if they are honest, they would find out that the government should give you money for what you have done for this country without stealing money."
Obasanjo, who is the immediate past Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Board of Trustees, then faced Oronsaye, Agabi, a former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Charles Soludo; and ex- Minister of Information, Frank Nweke Jnr., and said, "When I look at you, I thank God for making you available to serve in my administration, to serve Nigeria and serve God at the time you did."
But he faulted Agabi's earlier call at the service for the establishment of a National Commission for Integration, saying it was not necessary. According to him, the entire 1999 Constitution is for integration.
"What else do you need. You have a constitution that is intended to integrate the country. You have the Federal Character Commissiom for instance. What is that one meant to do? It is for integration. The entire constitution is all about integrating this country. If at all we failed to use it, it can even be said that we have breached the constitution. You don't need a commission for integration," Obasanjo added.
On the planned agency for pipeline protection, the former President said it would be another avenue for corruption.
"This (Sunday) morning, I was travelling from Abeokuta and I was listening to a radio station when I heard that they (government) are going to set up an agency for pipeline protection. Now, what are the police for? What are all the security agencies that we have doing? This is another chop chop.
For those advocating change in Nigeria, Obasanjo said they must be prepared to take insults. "I just hope that we will get it right. We have no choice, we have to get it right. Let us decide individually that 'I would do what I have to do to bring about change in Nigeria.' If you do that, let me assure you, you will be called names; you will be abused; some people are hired to do that. But like Oby (Ezekwesili) say what you believe is right and stand by it.
But the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Dr. Ahmed Gulak, responded to Obasanjo's comments, saying that any administration could be probed.
Gulak, in an interview with one of our correspondents, argued that even the current administration was being probed regularly by the legislative arm of government.
He added, " This administration and past administrations can be probed. Nobody should be afraid of probe."
On Obasanjo's description of the planned pipeline protection agency as another chop chop, Gulak said as an elderstatesman,
Obasanjo should not just criticise government for its sake, but should proffer solutions if indeed he loves the country. He said since Obasanjo was not the present President, he should allow the incumbent to concentrate on his job.
Gulak said, "The former President is entitled to his opinion; but he is not the President. He should allow the President to do his work. People should stop making derogatory statements about the President. There is only one President in the country today and we should all support him.
"People should not just be criticising government. As an elderstatesman, if he indeed loves this country, he should proffer solutions rather than criticising."
Some aides of the former President- Hassan Lawal, Nasir el- Rufa, Femi Fani-Kayode, and Adeyanju Bodunde - are currently being tried for various offences.
While Lawal, a former Minister of Works, is being prosecuted for N75bn fraud, el-Rufai, an ex- Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, is facing trial for irregular land allocation and abuse of office. Fani-Kayode, who is former Minister of Aviation, is facing trial for money laundering while and Bodunde, an special assistant to Obasanjo, was in 2011 arraigned for his alleged involvement in the $180m Harlibutton bribery scandal.
Ezekwesili had in her remarks, recalled how her parents moulded her by teaching her moral values. She said she could not understand why people would wanted to enjoy a life that they never worked for.
"I was born to parents who are from a humble family. My daddy was a man of uncompromising integrity. My daddy worked in Nigeria Ports Authority. He used to say to us that the NPA had become a centre of corruption. That was so many years ago. My mother talked my father out of public service
because she was afraid for him. "My mother used to go to what we call bend down boutiques in
Tejuosho Market in Lagos to buy clothes for us. She knew what they called grade one okrika (used clothes). We did not have money. We were poor but rich in values. Those values shaped everything about me. From young age, good governance and accountability mattered to me," she told the congregation.

Ezekwesil, who said she felt "a sense of completion of a certain phase in my life," added that corruption in governance today might not allow a child of similar background to survive. "In a relatively decent society, I got the kind of education that has taken me thus far. I was Minister of Education. A similarly poor child, who comes from the kind of family I came from when I was young would not have the kind of opportunities that
I had in this same nation.

"We must therefore build a decent society that does not sow this terrible seed of inequality that I see around me today. When I see the children of drivers, the gardeners and I see that they will not have the kind of education and opportunities that I had, it pains me."

On why she criticised the government recently, she replied that "democracy is incomplete without the engagement of citizens in the process. The demand for accountability and results is the right of citizens."
In his homily, Rev. Dr. William Okoye, appealed to Nigerians to shun corruption and be contented.
According to him, any nation that places values on materialism is doomed. "Life is not about material things that some of us are concerned about today. Life consists of far more than that. When people value money more than life and God, they can do anything. The life you live pursuing mundane things at the expense of God has no blessing and can't save you."

ASUP begins indefinite strike

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) will today embark on an indefinite strike, following failure of the government to implement agreements on issues affecting polytechnic education in the country.

The indefinite strike followed end of a seven-day warning strike which ended weekend.

The National President of ASUP, Mr. Chibuzor Asomugha, said that the indefinite strike had become unavoidable because the meeting the union had with Secretary to the Federal Government, Senator Pius Anyim, yielded no positive results.

He said the strike would be called off only when the government addressed all the demands raised by the union, urging all polytechnic lecturers across the country to abide by the directive to embark on indefinite strike.

SAD : Killer cops’ victim, (Korie), was set to wed

The motorist, who was killed by policemen in the Mushin area of Lagos State last Thursday was to get
married by the last quarter of 2013.

PUNCH Metro had reported last Friday that Santos Korie (Nwabueze Korie), was killed in his Toyota
Highlander Sports Utility Vehicle around Daleko Bridge. The cousin of the deceased, Henry Madu, told our correspondent that Korie was engaged and was planning to get married this year.
He said, “He was engaged and was planning his traditional wedding already. His fiancee is a National Youth Service Corps member and he was waiting for her to finish this July before getting married to her. “She has been crying since the incident occurred and we have been consoling her.”
Madu told our correspondent that Korie’s death was painful because he was the breadwinner to his siblings.
He said, “He has six siblings but their parents are late. Although he was the second child, he was the breadwinner. “He was only 38 years old before his life was cut short by those who should have protected him.”
The police had also claimed that Korie was probably killed by hired killers in police uniform.
Madu however faulted this theory, saying his cousin was never involved in any illegitimate business and did not have enemies that would want to eliminate him.
He said the circumstances surrounding Korie’s death showed that he was killed by overzealous policemen. He said although he did not witness the killing, the deceased’s friend, Tochukwu Ofogene, told him that
he (Korie) was shot in the face after being stopped by policemen.
He said, “My cousin was driving while his friend, Tochukwu, was on the passenger side. They were coming from FESTAC but on getting to Iyana-Isolo, they noticed a road-block due to an ongoing construction.
“They wanted to ascend the Daleko Bridge so a newspaper vendor advised them to drive against
traffic in order to connect the bridge. It was while they were about ascending that the two policemen
accosted them.
“A policeman stood by the driver side while the other stood by the passenger side. As he was trying to
explain himself, they cocked their guns. As he was about to park properly, the policeman by his side
opened fire. Then they both fled.”
Madu said Korie’s vehicle lost control and rammed into a truck carrying sachet water. He said the
matter was later reported at Area D Command. Madu said officials of the Lagos State Traffic
Management Authority also brought two guns believed to have been dumped by the policemen to
the Area D Command. He said the deceased’s corpse was deposited at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital mortuary after it had been rejected at Isolo General Hospital.
He said, “It was at Area D that I got involved. I saw my cousin’s corpse stained with blood all over. It was a gory sight. After depositing money at the mortuary, we were all taken to the state police command headquarters. “By then, two policemen and one civilian, Sylvester had been arrested. We were taken to the Commissioner of Police’s office where he asked the policemen if they were the ones that killed by cousin
but they denied it.
“The CP however ordered that they be detained.” While trying not to betray his emotion, Madu recalled the last time he saw the deceased. He said they were very close and had even planned his own wedding together.
He said, “I spent the Easter with him and we were together four days before he was killed. We spoke
about many things. “He said he wanted to make sure that his younger ones would not suffer the way he did. He had a good heart.
“In fact, he told me that he would hire a live band to come and perform at my church wedding which is due to hold this October.” PUNCH Metro learnt that detectives at the SCID had visited the crime scene and had also taken pictures of the vehicle.
It was learnt that an autopsy had been conducted on the deceased.
A copy of the death certificate made available to our correspondent said Korie died as a result of a
“perforating gunshot injury to the left zygomatic area with skull fracture, subarachoin haemorrhage and cereberal contusion.”
The acting spokesperson for the state police command, Damascus Ozoani, said investigations
were ongoing.

Tragic : 25-year-old DJ(Olamide) murdered over rumoured N2million deal in Lagos

The residents of Bank Olemoh Street in Surulere, Lagos are still in shock over the killing of a 25-year-
old DJ, Olamide George, on Monday by two unknown gunmen.
DailyPost gathered that George was shot dead at about 2pm while he was with his friends under a tree, popularly called Abe Igi. Two resident, who pleaded anonymity, said the deceased was an ‘internet businessman’. One of them said the likely motivation for his assassination was a N2 million deal he just concluded.
They added that George just rented and furnished an apartment at Apapa Road. DailyPost learnt that George allegedly answered a call few minutes before he was killed and his caller requested to know where he was. George had replied the caller that he was at Abe Igi.
The deceased’s father, Mr Gbolahan George said, “I was told that the assassins were four and were in
Keke Maruwa (tricycle). They parked at the entrance of the street; two got down and walked to
where Olamide sat with his friends. The one with the gun did not know him, so the other person who
accompanied him pointed at Olamide. “Immediately Olamide was identified, he was shot in the head and on the chest.” “I was called around 2:30pm and told that my son’s body was at the morgue in Lagos University
Teaching Hospital. He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. I have reported the case at Area C
Police Command.”
Mr Gbolahan George however refuted claims that his son was an internet fraudster. He said, “He is a DJ, and not a scammer. And he is very gentle and pleasant. He wanted to write JAMB and get into Lagos State University.
“Olamide was also about to wed his girlfriend, Yetunde Adeyeri, who is five months pregnant before
his untimely death. And that was why I gave him N500,000 to rent a one-room self-contained apartment at Apapa Road.”
The Chairman of the Community Development Area, Mr. Wilson Ojei, who described the tragic incident
as unfortunate said, “I know Olamide as an easy young man trying to survive.

HOW 21-year-old KIDNAPPED, RAPED 53-year-old WOMAN

Troops of Sector 1, Operation Pulo Shield, Effurun Nigerian Army Barracks, last Thursday, acting on a tip-off, rescued a female senior staff of the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, at PTI Junction, Delta State, from the hands of suspected kidnappers cum rapists. EBENEZER ADUROKIYA reports the claims and counterclaims that ensued during their parade.
The story of a 21-year-old boy, who comfortably rides on a Lexus car worth N4.5 million at Effurun, tells more about a generation needing redemption.
The young man, Mr Tadafe Egwolo, was last Thursday, arrested by troops of Sector 1, Operation Pulo Shield, Effurun, along with his friend, Mr Kelvin Uvwie, for kidnapping, raping and demanding N10 million ransom from a 53-year-old woman.
The woman, who was allegedly raped by Egwolo at Room 602, Casa De Perdro Hotel located at Effurun, last Tuesday, was subjected to a dehumanizing state. She was, according to the senior staffer in PTI, at gun point, picked up from PTI junction at Effurun and taken to a hotel room, where she was stripped naked
and violated in the presence of Egwolo’s friend, Uvwie; who in turn, acted as a paparazzi. She was not only sexually molested, but subjected to a bestial state of sucking the penis of her traducer during the forced sex bout.
Thereafter, the mother of two, whose first daughter got married few months back, was requested to produce N10 million in few hours or face blackmail and/or death if she failed to concur. The woman, while speaking with journalists on Saturday, said apart from being a worker at PTI, she was a children’s teacher in one of the churches in Warri, adding that she had never met the suspects before, let alone having a romantic affair with them.
It was, however, gathered that apart from being single, she lived with her two daughters before one of them got married few months ago.
But Egwolo, whose father said he was 21 and not 25 years old as earlier claimed during interrogation by journalists, hinted that the case between him and the woman, was one of love gone sour, over his unpaid monthly salary arrears. The agreed monthly payment was N150, 000, for bringing sexual satisfaction to the
woman.
While giving the genesis of the relationship, the gigolo, Egwolo, insisted, “I’m here because of somebody I’ve been dating for one year and eight months. Her name is Jully Momoh (not real name).
I’m 25 years old and we met when I paid a visit to PTI. I was wearing dreadlocks then, so she saw me and said that she liked me. She said that I looked handsome and gave me her address, asking me to meet her in her office. Before we started dating, she said she would pay me monthly and since we started dating, we
used to meet at different hotels.
“The last sex we had which turned sour, was at Room 602, Casa De Pedro. Sometimes she would pay me between N1, 000 and N2, 000, but she later promised to increase my payment,” he
explained.
Egwolo, who claimed to be a Business Administration student at the Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, said he and his lover agreed on N150, 000 monthly for his services. According to him, the centre could no longer hold when she was not fulfilling her own part of the bargain and was rather promising him to wait till November this year, for his arrears.
Unsatisfied with the arrangement, Egwolo said he decided to set her up by taking her to the hotel room while he had arranged with his friend, Uvwie, to hide in the wardrobe and take snapshots of them. He said he intended to use the photographs to intimidate her to redeem her pledge.
“Sometimes she takes very good care of me and she promised to pay me N150, 000 per month. But she kept deceiving me every time I went to her office and yet she still expected me to continue to please her sexually. Later, I was worried and I confided in one of my friends on what to do. So we agreed on taking snapshots of me having sex with her, as a tool to retrieve the money from her,” Egwolo, who said he had lost his fiancée to the incident, lamented.
Mr Uvwie, on his part, did not take part in the actual purported rape, but joined his friend to take the snapshots of the sex scenes. He denied ever being promised any amount for his job, claiming
initially that he was a student of University of Abuja, studying an non-existent course, before he later said he was also into dredging, having finished studying Oil and Gas in India. Egwolo, however, begged for pardon while swearing before press men that her victim was the first ever sugar mummy he had ever dated, appealing to youths to beware of such fast business as the end may not be as envisaged.
“I would advise Nigerian youths not to do such things, because what you never planned for is what you would get. But I never wanted to blackmail her, I just wanted to threaten her so as to get my money. I threatened her that I would show the photographs to her children if she did not give me my money. I did not kidnap her. She paid the hotel bill herself. Though she begged me to wait till October to collect my money, I was not ready for such bargain,” Egwolo affirmed.
Meanwhile, afraid of being blackmailed or even killed, after the threats, the woman reported the case to the Joint Task Force (JTF) and was asked to play along. The JTF laid an ambush for the culprits when they came to the woman’s office at PTI to collect the ransom she claimed they demanded and the suspects were
nabbed.
Preliminary investigations, according to Commanding Officer, 3rd Battalion, Nigerian Army, Effurun, Lt. Col. Otu, while briefing the press after the parade of the suspects on Saturday, showed that the duo had confessed to committing the crime. According to Lt. Col. Otu, the suspects came in a Lexus car with
registration number; Delta EFR 02AA which belongs to Egwolo to PTI where they were to pick up their ransom.
While informing that more investigations would still be carried out on the case, Lt Col Otu gave other items recovered from them to include one Blackberry, two Nokia phones and one LG phone, saying that the suspected toy gun used for the action was yet to be retrieved.
He added that the suspects would be handed over to the appropriate quarters for prosecution after the JTF was through with them.

Two sisters hack brother to death over proceeds from land sale in Calabar

Men of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested and detained two sisters, simply identified as Ikwo and Idak for allegedly hacking their eldest brother, Kokoette Effiom Effiong, to death in Calabar, Cross River state.
According to information made available to DailyPost, Kokoette was attacked by his sisters with sticks and machetes in a fight which ensued, following a disagreement over the sharing of proceeds from the sale of their late father’s land at Akpabuyo.
The incident which happened, weekend, at Ikot Nakanda, according to a family source, left the deceased with deep machete cuts in the head inflicted which eventually led to his death.
“The man had deep cuts in the head and arm inflicted by Idak and Ikwo during a fight in the bush behind our house,” Otop Idebe, Kokoette’s cousin said.
“They claimed that their brother had made so much money from the sale of their father’s land while they
were away and so when another parcel was sold, they demanded that the money be shared equally
among all the surviving children and when their brother objected, they were not happy, leading to the
fight,” he added. While naratting what led to her brother’s death, Idak said, “On that fateful day, we were told that Kokoete gave the names of three of us, including one of our siblings, Efangha, to a native doctor for money rituals.
“So when he came to our kitchen to cook cocoyam, we warned him not to use our kitchen again because
we did not like sharing a kitchen with any man, besides, that he sold our father’s land and had the gut to keep the money to himself without giving us our share.”
She added that, “Kokoette insisted on using the kitchen and , quarrel ensued. While still exchanging
words, Kokoette went to the toilet in the bush behind the compound and Ikwo followed him with a big stick and a machete. After a short while, I heard Kokoette screaming, so I ran to the place to stop them only to see Ikwo using the machete on him.” However, Ikwo gave a different story. According to her, the deceased trailed her to the bush, where she went to stool and they started a fight.
The suspects were arrested by the police in Ikot Nakanda in Akpabuyo and transferred to the state
Criminal Investigation Department ,CID,,Diamond Hill in Calabar.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. John Imoh (DSP) said they would be charged to
court after the police had concluded investigation on the matter.

Update : ALUU 4 -judge hands off trial of accused persons

Justice T. S. Oji of the Port Harcourt High Court, on Thursday withdrew herself from the ongoing trial of
the alleged killers of four students of the University of Port Harcourt.
It could be recalled that the quartet of Biringa Chiadika Lordson, Mike Lloyd Toku, Tekena Erikena and Chidiaka Ugonna Kelechi Obuzor met their gruesome and untimely death in the hands of a merciless mob in Aluu community last year. The case had been at the Port Harcourt Magistrate Court from where it was transferred to the High Court, for lack of jurisdiction.
However, at the commencement of proceedings on the matter, the trial judge announced her decision to return the case file to the chief judge. She observed that the third accused person, Ikechukwu Louis Amadi, out of the 11 accused persons, did not have a lawyer to defend him.
The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Mr. I. Otorubio, led the state’s team for prosecution. Those arraigned were; Lawal Segun, Ex-Sergeant Lucky Orji, Ikechukwu Louis Amadi, David Chinasa Ogbada, Abiodun Yusuf, Joshua Ekpe, Abang Cyril, Alhaji Hassan Welewa, Okoghiroh Endurance, Ozioma Abajuo and Chigozie Evans Samuel. The trial judge, however, said her hands were tied in the case because she had close relationship with the two parties, (accused persons and victims) in the matter. According to Justice Oji, “It is safer to send the matter back to the chief judge for re-assignment than favour any party in this matter.
“The accused persons, I know them. The victims I know. My hands are tied in this matter. I am sitting between the devil and deep sea”. While noting that the case had received widespread publicity and had attracted much attention, Justice Oji said, “It is a matter of widespread publication. “The judiciary wants to maintain its image. It is not a matter of incompetence but because of its sensitive nature. “I will not satisfy anybody. Justice must not only be done, it must be seen to have been done. “The Rivers State judiciary has very capable hands to try all matters.”

Guardian tortures 12-year-old girl for getting raped

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a guardian, Edwin Alagbaso, for allegedly torturing a 12-year-old rape victim. Alagbaso, who used razor blade, knife and an iron rod to punish the victim, blamed her for "causing the rape".

A 22-year-old man, Uche Chibueze, who raped the minor, was also arrested by the police.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Chibueze, on April 15, 2013, had sex with the victim near the home of her guardian located at number 1 Magente Street, Pipeline, Akute. Chibueze, however, told our correspondent that he did not rape the victim since it was consensual.

He said, "I was at a friend's gathering when she came to me saying she had spiritual problem and wanted to know her real family. I told her that she should follow me to Solution Church which was nearby and she agreed.

"On our way to the place, I took her to a corner of the street and took off her clothes. I also took off my shorts and I had not fully penetrated when a resident caught us and raised the alarm. I tried to flee but they apprehended me. I explained to them that it was not rape but they did not listen to me."
It was learnt that Chibueze and the victim were taken back to Alagbaso's house. The guardian in a rage picked a knife and stabbed him in the palm.

"The man (Alagbaso) went for a kitchen knife and wanted to kill me, but I grabbed it from him. He, however, stabbed me in the palm," Chibueze said. Unable to do anything with the child molester, Alagbaso was said to have picked a razor blade and inflicted injuries on the scalp of the 12-year-old.
Not done, he allegedly used an iron rod to beat the victim and later used a knife to cut her in the legs.
As the victim was reportedly bleeding from the head and other parts of the body, the residents, who had been pleading, intervened and took her to the hospital. The residents also invited policemen from Ajuwon Division.

Alagbaso, however, told PUNCH Metro that he beat the victim to prevent her from being raped in future.
He said, "When I got home from work, I looked for her everywhere but did not find her. She left my three little children at home alone in the dark and went out with Chibueze. It was while she was out with him that he raped her.

"I punished her by shaving off her hair so that she would not look attractive again and men would not want to rape her in future. I also beat her so that she would not go out without permission because if she dies, people will blame me since I was the one that brought her to Lagos.

"I did not mean to beat her up to that extent, but I was angry. It was the devil that pushed me to beat her so much. However, the police do not have the right to detain me since I am the guardian and I have the right to correct her."
Our correspondent, who visited the victim at Comforter Hospital, learnt that she was responding to treatment.

The victim said although Alagbaso's wife was her aunty. She said, "He beat me up so much that I thought I would die. He brought me to Lagos in 2010 but I only started attending school some months ago and he does not allow me to go to school all the time. Sometimes, he tells me to stay at the shop.

A copy of the medical report made available to our correspondent read in part that her 'vaginal hymen was partially intact'.

It stated further that she sustained injuries to the scalp, swollen fingers, bruised abdomen and swollen eyes and mouth.

The Director, Project Alert on Violence Against Women, Dr. Josephine Effah-Chukwuma, said the victim should be taken away from Alagbaso.

She decried the rise in cases of child abuse and rape and commended the police for the timely intervention.

When contacted for comment, the spokesman for the state police command, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident. He said, "The rapist and the guardian are both in custody

The guardian has a case to answer for inflicting injuries on the victim with razor blade. They will be brought to book."

Four arraigned for ‘sexually harassing’ a prostitute

Four men have been arraigned before Magistrate Demi Ajayi of Ikeja Magistarte’s Court, Lagos, for
allegedly harassing a prostitute, Jennifer Uche. Uche told the court that on the date, she met one of
the suspects in a club. He solicited for s*x with her for N5,000 per night.
However, when Uche got to the defendant’s place at Abubakar Street, about six other males came out of
hiding and forcibly had s*x with her. She said she lost consciousness after the ordeal and when she regained consciousness, the suspects paid her N800.

Uche said she subsequently “walked unsteadily to the nearest police station” and reported the incident.
The two-count read, “That you, Solomon Obaniro, 28; Adebayo Fagbemi, 25; Soliu Obalowu, 27; and
Oluwatosin Akomolafe, 22, and others at large on the 13th April, 2013, at about 3:00 am at No. 28, Sule
Abubakar Street, Opebi, Ikeja did s*xually harass one Jennifer Uche, aged about 27 years; and thereby
committed an offence punishable under section 262 of Lagos Criminal Law of Lagos State.”
The suspects were also charged for conspiring among themselves “to commit felony to wit: sexual
harassment, and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 409 of Criminal Law of Lagos State.”

They, however, pleaded not guilty. Police prosecutor, Barth Nwaokoye, argued that the suspects be remanded in custody. Ajayi, however, set bail at N300,000 each with two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned till June 17, 2013.

9 Reasons Why Some African Ladies End Up Single For Life

1. Many African ladies will end up singles for life because of media exposure- it is so disheartening how a lady will glue her eyes on a mobile phone from morning to night, only to raise it up to focus on television to watch another celebrity entertainment channel. Tell me, what else will dominate this lady’s mindset aside
how to live a fake celebrity life being promoted on television channels?

2. Many African ladies now dislike cooking and home chores just because they had been totally brainwashed by movies showcasing men playing the role of women in a family, and due to excessive
exposure to modern media that promotes gender-equality in a destructive way that’s aimed at destroying the unique African family setting that made our previous African marriages everlasting and envious to the westerns. Now, with this attitude, how do you expect a African man to desire to marry when he knows he is only buying more headache and trouble than helper for himself?

3. Excessive makeup turns most decent and serious-minded men off- if you have observed, you will discover that most men dislike excessive makeup, and more don’t even like it at all; reason they often times discourage their true loved ones to do away with it cos it speaks ill of a lady even though so many men will applaud and complement you for looking like an Egyptian mummy. A slight makeup is okay; but if you are out for marriage, try always to look simple and natural, it will attract better men, decent and serious- minded, except you are still living in your high school life and not thinking towards marriage.

4. Stop Giving Your Number Out To Every Joystick & Harry! No man would want to propose marriage to a lady whose phone is always talking and laughing with unserious calls. You may not be a playgirl, but he would judge you as one, and will likely flee at the slightest chance or disagreement.

5. You Don’t Bring Any Value Into The Life Of Men You Date or Are Dating- because your best friend married without contributing anything to the man that finally married her, doesn’t mean it will work for you that way. Think, work towards equipping yourself so that you can be a value and also add value to his life to convince him that you are worth committing to. Adding value to his life isn’t by giving him money, or material gifts, nope….good counsels, being his best friend, helping him attain his goals in life, lending him moral, mental and spiritual support, and by not just being a liability that only bring requests and problems to be solved.

6. Your Friends Run Your Life- how do you expect to find a husband when you still allow your clique of friends to be dictating which man you meet is worthy of your love and which is not? When will you wake up and face the fact that those your best friends even though they cherish you, wouldn’t want you to marry before them or to marry the best man?

7. You Give Everything Out During Dating- As a single lady who has not been taken to the altar, you need to reserve some things for your husband to be, especially your body, respect it and preserve it at all cost. In the past, men rushed to marry to get certain things or privileges they had been constantly denied while being single. Such privileges include and not limited to: constant s*x and companionship, good food and tidied home, etc. But today, a single man gets even the best and of course more of constant s*x, good food and excellent home-keeping more than his married counterparts, so tell me how the hell you want him to desire to marry you when you have given him virtually everything he desires from a wife while being his girlfriend? And the most painful part of it all is that he knows that you are prepared to cut down on s*x supply, cooking, home-keeping, etc once he marries you, so why would he not want you to remain his girlfriend for life?

8. You Package Yourself Wrongly- in your attempt to look sexy, adorable and maybe appealing to guys, you have derailed from appealing to appalling. In fact you look more whorish than modest; more distractive than attractive, and more disgusting than adorable. Your dressing style determines who gets attracted to you
most times. If you dress high school, only high school-thinking guys will be attracted to you, and if you dress excessively sexy and provocative, only randy men will come to you for urgent satisfaction of their immediate sex urge, so don’t be fooled by media hyping of certain kinds of dressing, they are meant for certain set of ladies you wouldn’t like to be associated with, be careful. Remember, not all clothes that look s*xy are good for a seriously searching for a soul mate single lady.

9. You Lack Manner, Character, Wisdom and Good Home Upbringing- definitely, your ‘hot girl’, ‘pretty girl’, ‘s*xy girl’ looks will win you so many men; both the good, and the bad, but your inner beauty, your character and manner are the things that will determine whether any of those men would stay or run after
accomplishing their evil missions. In order words, do away with nagging, being possessive, challenging with men in negative ways, the mentality of ‘what a man can do a woman can do better’, a lie devil has used to deceive and destroy so many ladies today, please do away with it.

10 SIGNS YOU ARE NOT IN LOVE WITH YOUR PARTNER

Are you in a relationship? Do you love your Man/Woman? Here are a few things that show that you’re just playing around:-

1. Little things annoy you
If you always get unnecessarily agitated about a shirt he wears or some extra weight he gained or the way he sings in the car, then you don’t love him. When you really love someone, those things are funny, or at the very least tolerable. But if there’s no real connection there, the little flaws irritate you.

2. You don’t talk and you don’t care
If you don’t hear from him for two days, and you’re not bothered, then there’s a serious problem. Wanting to talk to your man, is a sure sign of true love. If you couldn’t care less, then you’re not in love.

3. You’re constantly comparing your relationship to others
When you’re really in love, you don’t care what everyone else is doing. You’re happy with what you have. Those differences in your relationship don’t feel like a problem. But, when you know you’re not meant to be with a guy, you constantly try to find something wrong with your relationship.

4. When going out, you still dress with other men in mind.
If you’re day dreaming about meeting handsome guys and dressing with that goal in mind, it means you wish you were single. That shows that you’re not really committed to your man.

5. He’s not the one you run to
When you’re upset about something, crying to your man seems like the obvious thing to do. But if you never confide in your guy, then you don’t really care about him. If you really wanted to be close, he’d be the one you go to when you need a sympathetic ear.

6. The image of you two standing at the altar gives you anxiety
If you can’t picture the two of you gazing into each other’s eyes happily on your wedding day, then you’re not meant to be. If you don’t smile at the thought of being his wife, then you’re just playing around.

7. You’re Managing
If there are serious issues militating against your relationship that you know can’t be resolved but you’re still seeing the guy, then it’s obviously a dead end. If he’s of a different religion from you and you know you can only marry a man of the same religion, then you’re going nowhere. You’re only still with him because you’re
avoiding the question: what next?

8.You’re disrespectful to each other
If you regularly insult your man, even in front of others, it’s a sign that you don’t really care about him. You’re lashing out at him because you know being with him is a waste of time.

9. You feel a little guilty around his family
Deep down you know you won’t be around forever, and they’re expecting you to be a daughter-in-law and the mother of their grandchildren someday. When you’re around the family of a man you don’t want to be with, it’s hard to suppress the guilt.

10. You’re still not sure if you like him
Basically, you opened this article! That’s not a good sign. When you know you’re serious about someone, you just know. If you’re still questioning your feelings, then you’re not meant to be.

Jay Z Linked to Satanic Sex Cult - Ordo Templi Orientis

There's a new claim that Jay Z is a devotee of the satanic sex cult, Ordo Templi Orientis, founded by Aleister Crowley

From The Daily Mail

Ordo Templi Orientis founding 'prophet' Aleister Crowley, who was born into an upper-class British family in 1875,
styled himself as 'the Great Beast 666'. He was an unabashed occultist who, prior to his death in 1947, reveled in his infamy as 'the wickedest man in the world'.

His form of worship involved sadomasochistic sex rituals with men and women, spells which he claimed could raise
malevolent gods and the use of hard drugs, including opium, cocaine, heroin and mescaline. Crowley’s motto —
perpetuated by OTO — was 'do what thou wilt'. And it is this individualistic approach that has led to a lasting
fascination among artists and celebrities.

…celebrities linked to OTO include the rapper Jay-Z, who has repeatedly purloined imagery and quotations from
Aleister Crowley.

Whether wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with 'Do what thou wilt' or hiring Rihanna to hold aloft a flaming torch in his
music videos (a reference to the Illuminati, an outlawed secret society whose name supposedly derives from Lucifer, or 'light bringer'), he has given the sect priceless publicity.

His clothing line, Rocawear, is shot through with OTO imagery such as the 'all seeing eye' in a triangle, the 'eye of
Horus' (an ancient Egyptian symbol frequently referenced in occult texts) and the head of Baphomet (the horned,
androgynous idol ofWestern occultism).

Some conspiracy theorists have seized on this as evidence that he is a member of a secret Masonic movement which
they believe permeates the highest levels of business and government.

Others take a more pragmatic view: that it is commercial opportunism, cashing in on impressionable teens’
attraction to the 'edginess' of occult symbolism.

Nigerian Couple Reunited After 10 Years And Died 24hours Later

culled from Punch newspaper
The story of Romeo and Juliet is read by many and taken for granted as just another story, a fairy tale.
But, your heart will melt when you hear one of the most shocking stories of the tragic accident involving a Young Shall Grow luxurious bus and a Dangote cement truck, the story of Nneka and Kenneth Ojielo, a couple who died in the accident. Theirs is a story that will bring tears to many eyes because Kenneth had not seen his wife in the last 10 years until Thursday, the day before
they both perished in the explosion.

“My sister travelled to Lagos from Enugu on Wednesday. On Thursday, I took her to the airport to welcome her husband. No one could separate them when Kenneth eventually came out with his luggage. They kissed for about 15 minutes and everybody around just stood watching. ”Nneka’s younger brother, Ogonna Abako, told Punch that “Kenneth
travelled to Austria in 2003 in search of greener pastures. Before he left, they already had five children. Their eldest child is 21.

“They actually got married very early. Kenneth was 26 years old
when they got married while my sister was about 20 years old at
the time. Everybody was joyous when we heard he was coming home.”

A picture of the joyous reunion taken by Ogonna’s wife on her mobile phone at the airport showed a couple with much happiness written all over their faces.
But that joy was short-lived.

On Friday, they decided to travel to Enugu. Kenneth wanted to meet his children as soon as possible. The children too were ecstatic in Enugu as they kept calling, asking their father, whom they had not seen in the last 10 years, to get home on time.

Ogonna said, “I drove my sister and her husband to a hotel and lodged them there. The following day, I woke up early to take them to the bus park. We got to Jibowu and realised that the Ekene bus they wanted to take had already left.

“I wanted them to take a smaller bus, but Kenneth insisted he would rather board the luxury bus.”

The couple held hands in the bus and prayed for journey mercies as Ogonna bid them farewell, not knowing it was for the last time. He said he called his sister’s phone at 3pm but it did not connect.
He thought there was at network problem.

“When it was 6pm, my sister’s eldest child called and said she had not seen her parents. I then asked my brother to go to the Young Shall Grow park in Enugu. He was told there that only two of the company’s buses took off from Lagos that day, one from Maza Maza and one from Jibowu.

“Many families were waiting for their relations at the park too.  The bus that took off from Maza Maza got to the park and that was when the passengers broke the news of the accident to waiting families. Those children will never see their father and mother again,” Abako said as he dabbed at his teary eyes.
Worse is the fact that their bodies cannot be claimed by their family members for burial as they were burnt beyond recognition and were therefore given a mass burial on Tuesday in Benin. What a sad way to end their journey…all the 10 years hustle of the husband gone. So sad!

Peter Rufai, Ex Super Eagles Goalkeeper Facing Jail Time For Diverting 200K Euro In Belgium

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper and 1994 African Nations Cup gold medalist, Peter Rufai worked very hard to be in form and maintained good name. He was in goal for Nigeria’s senior national team for over a decade, and kept goal for European clubs such as K.S.C Lokeren, K.S.K Beveren (both of Belgium) and Deportivo de La Coruna of Spain.
However, one error of judgment on his part has caused the reputation he built over the years to stain, particularly in Belgium where he allegedly diverted the sum of 200,000 euro that was put in his hand by the Nigerian Community and ran to Nigeria last year.
Sources claim that the Belgian government has an arrangement in place for ethnic groups and that of nationals of other countries in Belgium whereby financial supports are given to them every quarter. A subvention, it takes several different forms. At times, it is 5000 euro in a quarter, and at other times it is well above it.
Organizations like the Egbe Omo Odua, Igbo Group, Nigerian Community, Sierra Leon Community, and Ghanaian Community among others get theirs and spend it with shrieks of delight. Most of the African communities also have football clubs that also benefit from the largess.
Impeccable sources told orijoreporter that last year the Nigerian Community Football Club, an outfit managed by the ex-international and in division four of the Belgian League, received 200,000 euro (about N44 million) from the Belgian authority to prosecute the club’s programmes. Others like Ghana, Sierra Leon were also beneficiaries.
But while others used the money as specified that of Nigeria was diverted by the manager, Rufai who left with it to Nigeria since last year and has not returned.
It was said that before the incident Egbon as Rufai is called in Belgium by the Nigerian Community was living in Antwerp having been brought from Spain where he had a small school where goalkeepers were trained by a lady.
Things were so difficult for him following his failure to make the right investments during his impressive career as a footballer. And under the condition he was in, any straw was worth holding on to.
Orijoreporter gathered that Dodo Mayana as he is fondly called in Nigeria risked being jailed for three or six months if he returned to Belgium. It was also said that Rufai’s reported illness last year in Nigeria when he was admitted to Toki Hospital at Surulere for slumping in his office, after his 78 years old mother’s death was feigned so as to distract attention from his wrongdoing.

Former Speaker Dimeji Bankole's Father Impregnates 3 Ladies At The Same Time

Wonders, they say, shall never cease, news broke out that the Ogun State political god father and father of the former Speaker of the Federal House Of Representatives , Dimeji Bankole, Chief Alani Bankole at 71 has impregnated a lady who recently delivered a baby for him.
Many were shocked because of his advanced age, all unanimous in their views about where and how the elder states man should channel his energy, which should be nurturing the older and existing of his off springs rather than making more babies.
we gathered from close sources that two out of the three women the highly potent Egba High Chief impregnated, two delivered their bundles of joy early this year while the third is due to be delivered of her pregnancy soonest.
Bola Ewebiyi, a 26 years old Business Administration graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, the first amongst the three baby mamas was delivered of a baby girl. Likewise a 33 year old Indigene of Ilaro. They were both said to have delivered a week apart of each other in January.

Floating School Built On Water For Residents Of Makoko Slum, Lagos

Residents of Makoko/Iwaya Waterfront in Yaba Local Council Development Area, LCDA, will soon begin to enjoy the luxury of a floating school jointly built by the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP and NLE Works, Nigeria.
The three storey floating building is part of the regeneration plan for the coastal community.
According to the builders the construction of the school is aimed at achieving the Millennium Development Goals, MDGs, Goal II, which is to boost universal primary education.
This came barely eight months after the Lagos State government demolished hundreds of ‘illegal structures in the area.
When reporters visited the site of the floating school at the weekend, residents of the community were already heaving a sigh of relief, anticipating that many of their children will now have access to sound education.
Sources gathered that the new primary school named ‘Makoko floating School’, was built on a foundation of 256 plastic drums and powered by solar panels suspended on the roof. Investigation further revealed that, many residents are praying that the design will be approved by governor Babatunde Fashola.
Sources also told newsmen that the floating school cost N993, 750 ($6, 250), because of its size.
Mr. John Adugbo, a resident of Makoko, said; “We have been waiting for the project that will aid more children to attend school. Presently, many children don’t have access to good educational facilities.”
Adugbo added; “All we have is a school that was constructed to serve as a palliative measure because of our peculiar challenge of being surrounded by water.”
The founder of NLE, and promoter of the floating school, Mr. Kunle Adeyemi who spoke to newsmen from his Netherland office, said; “The desire to construct the school was burn out of curiosity after I visited the community and interest in the coastal community, where despite the little income made daily by the breadwinners, they have never stopped developing the infrastructure.”
Explaining the building’s features, Adeyemi said “The ground floor of the school would serve as an open recreational space for the pupils during the day and at night and weekends, their fathers can converge and hold meetings.”
He added that the first floor and the upper floor have classrooms that would serve their primary purpose.
According to him, “the structure will accommodate over 100 students and their teachers and it is an extension of the only existing school in the coastal community.”
A source gathered that the community which has over 100, 000 residents has only one primary school, called ‘Whayinna Nursery and Primary school’ and no secondary.
Adeyemi continued “the floating school is an extension of the existing primary school which could only provide sound education service to less than 200 children in the community. The state government can also adopt the structure for all the coastal communities in the state,” he added.

Czech President Impeached For State Pardon

A few days ago, on Monday March 4, the Senate of the Czech Republic impeached the country’s President for granting state pardon to criminals charged with financial frauds. By a vote of 38 to 30 the Czech Republic Senate indicted and impeached President Václav Klaus, at an executive session, for issuing state pardon on December 31, 2012, to cover a range of financial crimes; including investment funds thefts, and, non-violent crimes or offences committed by elderly persons.
President Václav Klaus gave amnesty alongside to all criminals facing 10-year jail terms but whose court trials have exceeded 8 years by December 31, 2012. Altogether, he released 6,236 prisoners under his hands, being 25% of prison inmates, although quite a few of those he amnestied quickly re-committed crimes within days and were promptly returned to jail, giving a lie to a plausible argument of offenders’ penitence or contrition that his clever by half spokesmen could invent.
Showing its outrage further, the Czech Republic Senate quickly passed a separate resolution immediately referring President Václav Klaus to the Constitutional Court on indictment for treason trial. In a country riven by corruption, a state pardon of financial crimes by President Václav Klaus was considered serious enough to rise to the level of high crime against the Czech Republic, in the Senate’s majority view.
Two separate charges of constitutional trespasses were then added in the treason indictment for a consolidated trial by the Constitutional Court before or by June this year.
No nonsense, no sentiments, the Czech Republic Senate in taking these un-precedented steps against corruption, simply dis-regarded President Václav Klaus’ age, for despite being 71- year-old, the Czech Republic President is to face judicial punishment, if convicted for treason, and, shall become legally disable as an ex-convict to forfeit his pension for 10 years in office as the president.
"The broad amnesty for thousands of people only serves as a smoke-screen for pardons of serious economic offenses and abolition of their investigations", said Jan Macháček, a columnist for the Respekt weekly, whilst commenting on what’s emerging in other countries too as a trick whereby a President adds several names to conceal the prominence of a person really intended to be favoured. “Oh, no!” retorted President Václav Klaus. "I did not have a single specific person in front of my eyes when [preparing] the amnesty," President Václav Klaus said. Not to worry, the Constitutional Court will hear President Václav Klaus more fully, but from the dock. For now, he can ponder the prospect of severe cross- examination founded on Article 2 of the Czech Republic which says:-
(1) The people are the source of all power in the State; they exercise it through bodies of legislative, executive and judiciary powers.
(1) The people are the source of all power in the State; they exercise it through bodies of legislative, executive and judiciary powers.
(2) A Constitutional Act may define when the people exercise state power directly.
(3) State power shall serve all citizens and may be applied only in cases, within limits and by methods defined by law.
(4) Every citizen may do what is not prohibited by law and nobody may be forced to do what the law does not instruct them to do.

(4) Every citizen may do what is not prohibited by law and nobody may be forced to do what the law does not instruct them to do.
On those constitutional provisions, President Václav Klaus will seem to be in all sorts of legal knots, because as phrased, the powers of state in the Czech Republic are not reposed on him as individual, to enable him invoke the defence of executive discretion – which the Presidents of many other countries will more readily assert, along with immunity; neither of which bogus defence the constitution of Czech Republic accepts in
defence of treason.
Besides excluding those two bogus defences, the constitution of Czech Republic does something else sensible. Its article two provision is captioned “Fundamental Provisions” – meaning it overrides any other conflicting law or power. And although similar provisions exist as Chapter 2 in the 1999 Constitution
of Nigeria, and also labelled “Fundamental Objectives and Directive Principles of State Policy”, the Nigerian version is worse than useless.
According to Nigeria’s Supreme Court, Nigeria’s own longish version of “Fundamental Principles” is just mere advice to the government which no court of law can enforce, because, in the quaint lingo of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, the “Fundamental Principles” of Nigeria’s own constitution are “non-justiciable”.
Much worse, the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria grants immunity for life to the President of Nigeria for all acts done or omitted to be done in his or her official capacity. Surely, with such pincer-like privilege, the President of Nigeria has absolute legal license to do as he wishes.
“Nigeria is not even a pretence to democracy but an utter shambles”, said a Lagos columnist. “Its 1999 Constitution makes clear in advance to the routinely voters that they are only being invited to vote and choose a dictator over themselves”.
Set beside the Czech Republic, Nigeria begins to look strange and funny, in terms of law and order, because immunity having tied their hands and divested middle-class Nigerians of lawful powers to force the issue against a recalcitrant, obstinate, murderous, corrupt or adamant President, the non- justiciability of any legal complaint sounding in ethical outrage against an elected Nigeria President, makes sure that the President of Nigeria at any point is not answerable to anyone for ethical mis-use of state powers.
And, just as correlation is not causation, fundamental principles commonly appearing in the constitution of both Czech Republic and Nigeria, lack similar result. Illustratively, Article 2 (3) of the Czech Republic constitution says:
State power shall serve all citizens and may be applied only in cases, within limits and by methods defined by law. There is no such express provision in Nigeria’s own 1999 Constitution; as such, no concrete ethical control of a Nigerian President’s use of state powers. Article 2 (3) of the Czech Republic makes the difference and explains why a Nigerian President can afford to ride roughshod over public opinion. Indeed, more often than not, a Nigerian President just casually appropriates all national powers, as individual, and uses it solely at his own discretion, for private purposes; either to gift taxpayers’ money to lady-friends as he wishes, or, at other times to direct that the treasury makes illicit cash deliveries to cronies under false entries.
As this financial treason rages under its shambolic constitution, one of Nigeria’s supposed “50 wise men” who drafted it and put the country into voluntary bondage, Professor Ben Nwabueze (Chairman of the sub-committee which drafted the non-justiciable chapter two of the 1999 Constitution) has lately been confessing the drafters’ errors and mostly naïve assumptions.
“We were misled”, he said, ruing the atrocious consequences since then, as a Nigerian President commanded soldiers to kill almost everyone in both Odi village and in Zaki-Biam, which the Nigerian courts of law could only view as photographic evidence, without any power to punish the malfeasant President, both murders being legally immunized under the zany 1999 Constitution of Nigeria.
To save face after much hand-wringing, the fettered Nigerian courts of law awarded 70 billion Naira as damages payable by all Nigerians, but which those cold-bloodedly murdered in Odi and Zaki-Biam can’t receive or spend.
