Bishop David Oyedepo yesterday turned 58 years. the Man of God who is the General Overseer of Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel.
Here is a little biography of the Man of God:
On September 27, 1954 David Olaniyi Oyedepo was born in Osogbo but is a native Omu Aran, Kwara
into a religiously mixed family: his father,Ibrahim, was a Muslim healer
and his mother, Dorcas, was a member of the Eternal Order of the
Cherubim and Seraphim Movement (C&S), a branch of the Aladura
movement in Nigeria. He was raised by his grandmother in Osogbo, who
inculcated into him the virtues of Christian life via the early morning
prayers which she attended with him. She also taught him the importance
of tithing. David was “born again” in 1969 through the influence of his
teacher, one Ms. Betty Lasher, who took special interest in him during
his high school days. He studied architecture at Kwara State Polytechnic
and worked briefly with the Federal Ministry of Housing in Ilorin
before resigning to concentrate on missionary work. Oyedepo also gained a
Ph.D in Human Development from Honolulu University, Hawaii, United
States of louvain lakasi America.
Bishop David received a mandate from God through an 18 hour long
vision in May 1981 to liberate the world from all oppression of the
devil through the preaching of the word of faith.
This is the inaugural vision that led to the founding of the Living
Faith Church World Wide (LFCWW), first called Liberation Faith Hour
Ministries, in 1981. Two years after, on 17 September 1983, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God,
ordained David and his wife, Florence Abiola Akano (now known as Faith
Abiola Oyedepo) to become pastors also officially commissioned the newly
started church of Oyedepo. Five years after, Oyedepo was ordained a
Bishop.
Living Faith Church (AKA Winners Chapel) started in Kaduna, but moved to Lagos,
the former capital of Nigeria in September 1989 to start a new branch
of His Church, after receiving an instruction from God to reach out to
the population in Lagos.
This Church in Lagos grew to become the International headquarters of
Living Faith Church, with a constantly increasing flow of crowds spilling
over to adjacent roads, and on decks of uncompleted buildings
nearby, compelling people to stand for hours to listen to His
teachings. This led to the building of the renowned Faith Tabernacle, as
instructed by God.
Oyedepo is the wealthiest preacher in Nigeria with a net worth of
over USD $150 million. The church he pastors, owns four private jets and
they own buildings all around the world, including London and the
United States. Oyedepo is an acclaimed author and publisher who has
written over 70 titles apart from periodicals. He is also
Chairman/Publisher of Dominion Publishing House (DPH), a publishing arm of his ministry. DPH has over 4 million prints in circulation to date. Through him, Covenant University, Landmark University, Faith Academy and Kingdom Heritage Schools have been established to equip the youth for impact.

JIGAWA WOMAN GIVES BIRTH TO HALF HUMAN, HALF GOAT
Woman supposedly gives birth to half-human, half-goat in Jigawa
And yet another bizarre story. Uhhhhh! This time coming from Jigawa. A woman supposedly gave birth to what you see above; a baby with goat legs and no neck, at the General hospital in Jahun, Jigawa State.
How is this even possible? And please I don't want to hear witches and wizards...:-). What exactly are we looking at here?
MEET THE WORLD'S POOREST PRESIDENT
Meet The World`s “Poorest President”
***donating 90 percent of his earnings to charitable causes.
*** earned most enviable reputation
***He lives in a farmhouse
***Uruguay ranks as the second least corrupt country in Latin America
While our Nigerian leaders are being berated for refusing to declare their assets publicly and demanding astronomical pay rise to add to the already exorbitant allowances they receive, the President of Uruguay, José Mujica is getting world wide recognition and respect for donating 90 percent of his earnings to charitable causes.
He has earned what most people would call an enviable reputation as the “poorest,” or the “most generous,” president in the world. His nickname, “el presidente mas pobre” translates to “poorest president”.
The President said in a recent interview that the only big item he owns is his Volkswagen Beetle car, valued at $1,945 dollars (about N308,283) . He earns a salary of $12,500 a month (N1,981,250), but only keeps $1,250(N198,125) for himself, donating the rest to charity.
He lives in a farmhouse which is under his wife’s name, Lucía Topolansky, a Senator, who also donates part of her salary.
The 77 year-old who has been Uruguay’s president since March 1, 2010 told El Mundo, “I do fine with that amount; I have to do fine because there are many Uruguayans who live with much less.”
It was also reported that under his stewardship, Uruguay has become known for low levels of corruption. The South American country ranks as the second least corrupt country in Latin America in Transparency International’s global corruption index.
Yahoo News reported that the President has no bank accounts, no debts, and he enjoys the companionship of his dog, Manuela. When his term is over, the President hopes to rest even more peacefully in his farmhouse, along with his wife and his inseparable dog.
There is something about leading by example. When you do, it becomes easier for other people to follow.

‘I am not wanted by the Police’ – Davido releases statement
Pop star Davido has released an official statement denying the news of him being wanted by the Nigerian Police Force over the on-going assault case involving him and a taxi driver.
On Saturday, September 16, 2012, Crime Digest of Punch Newspapers reported that the Assistant Inspector General of Police had ordered the arrest of the popular pop singer.
Davido however debunks the news in his statement released to NET a day later after the news broke;
‘I want to assure all my beloved
fans and friends that, I am not wanted by the police and no officer in
the Nigerian police gave an order for my arrest. I went to the police
some weeks ago to give a statement and cleared my name‘, Davido said in the statement released through his manager Asa Asika.
The 19-year-old insists that he did not beat up the now-popular Taxi man Femi Ajibola who
claims he was assaulted by Davido and that even Susan (Davido’s
supposed lady-friend who hired the Taxi man’s services) has denied the
news too.
‘I did not beat up any taxi driver
and the lady that hired the taxi driver and all those that are involved
in this matter have made statements to the police and none of them
mentioned my name except the taxi driver who claims that a large sum of
money was missing in his taxi. In fact the lady in question stated that
she was not beaten by anyone and that nobody assaulted the taxi driver.‘, Davido explains.
He laments that he is being blackmailed but he will not give in to it
‘This is a case of blackmail, and I
have resolved not to succumb to any blackmail for money. And to all
those that are involved in this conspiracy to bring me down, I want to
remind you that God Almighty himself got me to where I am today in my
music career and you will not succeed in your devilish efforts to bring
me down‘.
His manager had this to add: ’These are all false. I’m sure you all know we have been in the states shooting videos for the last two weeks‘, Asa Asika says.
Davido returns to Nigeria on Sunday, September 23, 2012.
