The Commonwealth Energy Summit 2012 Award Ceremonies under the auspices of European Business Assembly based in Oxford came up on the 21st of March, 2012 at Nash Room 116, Paul Mall Street, London.
Socrates Award Ceremony is an annual presentation in the field of Government, Management, Economy, Science, Education and Culture.
The Best Enterprise Prize in the field of Education in 2011 was awarded to Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti. The ceremony which was well attended by dignitaries from all parts of Europe, Africa and Asia started at 7p.m. and lasted till 11.30p.m.
Presenting
the award to the Founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, AARE
AFE BABALOLA,OFRR,CON,SAN,LL.D by the Director General/Chief Executive
Officer of European Business Assembly, Prof. J.W. Netting, said that the
decision to give the Best Enterprise Award to Afe Babalola University,
Ado-Ekiti was based on the analysis carried out by European Business
Assembly powerful Research Team, which was also confirmed by the
personal visit of Prof. Mil Goodheer to Nigeria describing Afe Babalola
University as a model which he has not seen anywhere.
In a
short response, AARE AFE BABALOLA thanked the organisation and said that
the award will act as a stimulus and will encourage the university to
work harder to attain his vision of transforming education in Nigeria by
example.
Among
the numerous dignitaries present at the impressive occasion were Prof.
Michael Omolewa (former Nigeria Ambassador to UNESCO and the current
member of the Commonwealth Advisory Council for teacher mobility,
recruitment and migration in the UK; Dr. Ayodele Ojo, representative of
Federal Medical Centre Ido; Dr. Emmanuel Ojo Ademola , Management
Consultant and University and College Administrator; Yeye Aare Modupe
Babalola; Mr Iyadunni Isiaka and ABUAD Council members including former
Attorney General of Ekiti State, Gboyega Oyewole and Mrs Folashade Alli.
