Authorities of the University of Lagos have launched an enhanced Insurance Policy for all the students of the Institution.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Rahamon A. Bello disclosed this on Friday, February 22, 2013
while addressing the students on the Launch of Students’ Insurance
Policy. He said three Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) have been
contracted to undertake the policy for all the students of the
University, namely: Clearline Care Ltd; Mediplan Health Care Ltd. and
International United Healthcare.
Professor Bello said the insurance policy was meant to protect the
lives of the students of the institution anywhere they might found
themselves.
His words, “Today’s
occasion is unique, unique in the sense that UNILAG is the first
Institution to launch this kind of policy in Lagos State. The University
Management did not unilaterally take the decision. The Medical Center
and the Dean of Student Affairs deliberated on the appointment of the
HMOs for the insurance policy for the students”
The Vice-Chancellor reiterated the commitment of the Management to
students’ welfare and urged the students to register with the HMO
allocated to their respective Faculties.
Below is a break-down of the HMOs and allotted Faculties:
1. The International United Healthcare: Undergraduates and
