Efe Godspower, a 25-year-old truck driver
with Veton Services and Logistics Ltd, Ojota was sentenced to one month
imprisonment by an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for stealing a tyre
worth N40,000.
Godspower entered a guilty plea when he was arraigned before Magistrate I.O. Afunwa.
Godspower admitted to stealing the spare tyre, of the truck he was
driving. He also said he sold it and used the proceeds to treat his sick
child. He said “I don’t want to touch the company’s goods; the only
thing I could do to save my daughter’s life was to sell that tyre. I
sold it for N7,000 only.”
